Editorial Policy

Purpose and independence ChopFlow Boards provides evidence-based reviews and guidance on cutting board sets. Our recommendations are driven by testing and user value, not by advertisers, brands, or affiliates. We do not accept payment for positive coverage, and no brand may preview or approve our conclusions.

Standards and ethics

  • Accuracy first: Claims must be supported by test data, firsthand inspection, reputable standards, or clearly labeled expert opinion.
  • Reader-first framing: We write to serve real kitchens—edge life, prep speed, sanitation, durability—rather than marketing hype.
  • Transparency: We disclose methods, limitations, and material relationships (samples, affiliate links).

Review methodology All product evaluations follow our published How We Test framework, which quantifies three core scores—EdgeKind, PrepFlow, and CareLoad—using repeatable trials. When we deviate or add exploratory tests, we explain why and how.

Sourcing and samples

  • We acquire products via retail purchase, manufacturer samples, or loans. Source type never guarantees coverage or favorable results.
  • Samples may be kept for long-term testing; if not retained, they are returned or donated.
  • We avoid conflicts of interest and do not accept gifts that could influence coverage beyond the review unit itself.

Fact-checking and verification Editors verify measurements, specifications, and claims against manufacturer documentation and independent references. We prioritize primary sources, standards bodies, and peer-reviewed materials where relevant (e.g., wood species properties, polymer compliance data).

Affiliate links and monetization We use affiliate links to help fund our work. If you purchase through these links, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Commissions do not affect our scoring or recommendations. Pricing and availability change frequently; always verify at the retailer.

Corrections and updates

  • Corrections: If we publish an error, we will correct it promptly and note substantive changes.
  • Updates: We revisit guides as products, availability, or our methods evolve. Timestamps reflect the latest meaningful update.

Use of tools and AI We use research and writing tools to organize notes, check clarity, and manage data. Human editors are responsible for test design, conclusions, and final copy. No automated tool determines our recommendations.

User contributions and feedback We welcome reader feedback and long-term reports. When user insights influence updates, we acknowledge trends and integrate findings after verification.
